Stenson built narrowboats have earned an enviable reputation for quality and good value for money. The company have been at the forefront of industry developments in marine equipment, safety and boat owners comforts.
A modern narrowboat is now routinely equipped with central heating, shower cubicle, washing machine, fridge/freezer, satellite TV and energy systems to support them all.
Stenson Boatbuilders have been involved, as part of the Management Board of the former British Marine Industries Federation, with the development of safety standards and work practices on Inland boats in general, and in particular narrowboats, for the UK.

Stenson Boatbuilders are one of the unique operations to provide a completely integrated boat building service for customers - in workshops adjacent to the canal. Customers are advised in the first instaance on how their requirements can best be provided and then the whole construction, from steelwork fabrication through to final fitments and commissioning are under the direct control of the family business. Boat owners are encouraged to visit and view their boats whilst under construction - ensuring specific details and requirements are fully met.
